EXPECT TO COVER:
Asana Details: Refine your postures with precision and mindfulness. Through guided practice, detailed instruction, and asana break downs you’ll enhance your alignment, strength, flexibility, and learn to tailor asana to fit your body and your practice. Work with props and modifications to adapt postures for your practice needs day to day.
Anatomy Insights: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the body’s mechanics using the latest science. Our sessions will cover the anatomy essential for safe and effective practice, helping you to better connect with your own physicality.
Diverse Yoga Lineages: Sample from a variety of styles and traditions that have shaped modern yoga. Think Yin, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha, Restorative, Kundalini, Vinyasa; touch on the unique philosophies and practices that each lineage offers.
Subtle Body Practices: Delve into the world of pranayama (breath control), bandhas (body locks), and other techniques and practices (chakras, chanting, Ayurveda, etc.) that harness the energy within. Learn how these practices can transform your physical and mental state as well as be integrated into your asana practice.
Yoga Philosophy: What IS yoga actually though? (The question no yoga teacher wants you to ask)… We will take a look at the history of yoga, foundational texts, and the modern application of yoga philosophies. We will look to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita to inform our appreciation of the practice of yoga to provide a deeper sense of understanding, purpose and clarity. Develop your own practice of yoga “off the mat”, integrating philosophical principles with modern application to help you live more intentionally.
Meditation Techniques: Develop a meditation practice through homework and guided sessions. Explore different meditation styles to find what resonates most with you and supports your inner journey.
Diversity and Inclusion: Embrace the richness of diverse perspectives within the yoga community. Engage in discussions and practices that promote inclusivity, understanding, and respect for all.
Join us for this enriching experience and take your practice deeper. Whether you’re seeking personal growth or a stronger foundation for teaching, this immersion will empower you with the knowledge and skills to begin your journey into yoga both on and off the mat.

The best teachers are always those who have a strong personal practice, so let’s start off with that…
Module 1: 100Hr Yoga Foundations
Here you’ll have the chance to be introduced to many yoga teachings through the lens of your own personal practice. Don’t worry about the details of instructing someone else, embody the teachings, apply them in your own life and practice, and let them sink in.
We will cover yoga asanas – alignment and technique, yoga philosophy, subtle body practices, meditation, and touch on diversity and inclusion. See Module 1 Description above for detailed breakdown.
Module 2: 100Hr Teaching Methodology
Okay, here is where the rubber hits the road. Now that you’ve had a chance to embody and practice and learn for your own self the foundations of yoga, you are ready for an intensive deep dive into teaching.
This module will be very applied, expect to start practice teaching in our very first session, and end your training with a public (very real) class.
WE WILL COVER:
Intelligent Sequencing: Often what makes a class feel good (or not) comes down to sequencing. Using equal parts science and art, learn how to develop class sequences that prepares the body for the concepts being taught, while at the same time flowing postures seamlessly together to create an immersive experience.
Anatomy: Add on to your foundations from Module 1 to support intelligent sequencing and injury management, setting your students up to minimize injury and find more freedom to move. Source your cuing from an understanding of good alignment and the anatomy that governs it.
Teaching Methods: Here we will cover the practical aspects of teaching including how to structure a class, managing tempo, clear and concise cueing, managing a classroom, finding your seat as a teacher, using your voice, body language, and adjustments as tools to guide a class. As well as the intentional use of music (or not).
Practicum: We believe that with the right mindset anyone can become a great teacher. It just takes humbleness, an attitude of studentship, courage, and practice, practice, practice, practice. So we will offer up plenty of the latter. Expect assignments and small group mentor work to practice developing sequences, cueing, and teaching them in a small or large group setting and getting supportive feedback and structure all the way through.

FAQs
HOW DO I KNOW IF IM READY/EXPERIENCED ENOUGH
We all have imposter syndrom to some degree or another, but don’t let that hold you back. The single most important thing you need to make the most of this training is a willingness to commit your time and attention.
That being said:
For our 100hr Student Immersion (aka Module 1) – we recommend that you have a regular practice in place (regular means at least once a week for at least a couple of months). No you don’t need to be able to do handstand, or even touch your toes (like that’s easy…). But you would be well served to have an asana practice of some sort.
For our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training (Modules 1 and 2) – We require a minimum of 1 year of regular practice (in any yoga style). Again, you don’t need to do all of the things (yoga has very little to do with “advanced postures”), but you do need to have a baseline of practice from which to build your knowledge and teaching.
For our 100hr – Teaching Methodology (aka Module 2) ONLY – We require you to have a 200hr RYT qualification if you only intend to take Module 2 (and not Module 1 as well).
DO I HAVE TO TEACH WHEN I AM FINISHED THE 200hr YTT?
Whether or not you go on to teach is ultimately up to you. We do require that you teach a live class at the end of the the training as part of your 200hr Yoga Teacher Training graduation requirements.
That said, Teaching Foundations (aka Module 2) is really designed for those who want to develop the craft of teaching. So we encourage you to at least give it a few gos after graduation before making a decision on developing a teaching career.
If you know you do not want to teach you can sign up for our 100hr Student Immersion (aka Module 1) to get all the good stuff without having to worry about teaching.
WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE ALL OF THE SESSIONS?
If you know you cannot make a session please let the instructors know as soon as possible. You are required to complete all of the hours of the training so you will be required to complete make up assignments/practices for any sessions missed.
DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR 100HR STUDENT IMMERSION (MODULE 1) TO DO 100HR TEACHING METHODOLOGY (MODULE 2)?
Yes, our 200Hr YTT requires both Module 1 and Module 2 for qualification.
You can however sign up for the 100Hr Teaching Methodology alone if you already hold a 200Hr YTT certification.
The standalone price for our 100hr Teaching Methodology course is $1800.
ARE YOU REGISTERED WITH THE YOGA ALLIANCE?
Yes, our 200hr Yoga Teacher Training is Registered with the Yoga Alliance so upon completion you can register to be a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher.
CAN I DECIDE LATER IF I WANT TO DO 100HR TEACHING METHODOLOGY (AND COMPLETE THE 200HR YTT)?
If you know you want to do our 100hr foundations, but you’re not sure if you want to teach you can absolutely sign up for the 100hr Teaching methodology add on at a later time to enroll in our 200Hr YTT. If you decide to add on the 100Hr Teaching Methodology to complete your 200hr RYT it is $1800.
DO YOU HAVE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?
Yes, we have two scholarships available for our 200Hr YTT program that provide partial funding for tuition.
Our Equal Opportunity Scholarship is for anyone in the BIPOC community to help increase the representation of minorities as yoga instructors.
Our Karma Scholarship is for someone who does not have the financial resources to complete the training otherwise.
Please email team@peakhotyoga.com to request more information and the application form.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Please review our cancellation policy HERE
CAN I DO A PAYMENT PLAN?
Yes, you can do a payment plan. Enquire with us during your application process to set that up.
DO I NEED TO BE GOOD AT YOGA TO DO THIS TRAINING?
Define good at yoga.
We don’t really even know what this means.
If you mean do I need to be able to do all of the yoga poses in Light on Yoga? No, you do not. If you mean do you need to have mastered stilling the mind? No, you do not.
Think of this training like enrolling in any other training. We are teaching the foundations, and you are coming here to learn. So all you need to be “good” at is adopting an attitude of studentship.
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I PLAN TO COMMIT TO THE TRAINING?
Outside of our in person sessions you should plan to commit at least 3 hrs weekly of self practice, study, readings, and homework when our modules are in session to make the most of this training.
WILL WE BE PRACTICING HOT YOGA?
All of our in person training hours will be unheated (including practices). However you may be asked to take part in open classes as part of your training and these will be heated in keeping with our regular schedule offering.
*If you have trouble with heated classes let us know and we can arrange for alternate sessions for you.
You do not need to be into “hot” yoga to take this training.
IS THERE PRE-WORK REQUIRED? IS THERE A READING LIST?
Yes, upon being accepted into the program we will provide you with a reading list of required and supplimentary resources to complete as part of your training.
WHAT WILL A TYPICAL TRAINING DAY LOOK LIKE
While the schedule may vary some what day to day and weekend to weekend, you can expect to start sessions off with practice (often relating to the content to be taught that weekend). Practice will be followed by discussion where you will have the chance to share and ask questions.
We will then move into lecture/discussion/and workshopping of the key topics being taught that day (expect to listen to lecture, try on techniques, perhaps work in a small group, be guided in targeted practice, and discuss and share your thoughts and experiences).
Sessions will typically end with subtle practice (meditation, pranayama, yin or restorative) threading in any relavent philosophical or thematic topics from the day/weekend.
The cirriculum will be shared with you prior to the training start date.
